AC Schnitzer shows BMW how proper EVs are made with new i3S kit

The all-electric BMW i3S is by no means a bad car, it’s just that it sorely lacks sporty genes. Thankfully, AC Schnitzer addresses this minor fault quite aptly with its latest release.

The kit looks great, but you couldn’t seriously expect anything less from the team that has previously tackled the BMW i8 hybrid and hasn’t botched it.

The aftermarket trim parts adorning this BMW i3S show car are all relevant and well-placed. There is a new body kit, composed of a front splitter and a rear spoiler, which looks cool and doubtlessly has a beneficent effect on the entire performance. Then, of course, there are AC Schnitzer logos throughout the whole body.

New lowering springs bring the hatchback 20 mm (0.8”) closer to the ground. Wheel spacers make sure the wheel span is just right, improving both the looks and the stability at higher speeds.

There are no interior photos this time around, but, knowing AC Schnitzer, we would expect to find occasional aluminum details there, such as pedal pads.

Predictably enough, the tuner did not mess with the electric powertrain of the car. Still producing 184 hp (137 kW), it takes the i3S from standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 6.8 seconds.
