Alpine A110 by Carlex Design is ostentatiously expensive
Poland-based customization shop Carlex Design is renowned for its luxury interior makeovers available for all manner of vehicles. Their latest project is by no means an exception.
The Alpine A110 is a premium car as it is, but crack open the door, and chances are you will be disappointed by how cheap the cabin looks with its hard plastic trim and dull colors. Luckily, we have tuners like Carlex for situations like this.
The revamped A110 looks much more inspiring with its omnipresent white leather upholstery contrasted by blue mats and door cards. Using easily soiled colors like white inside a car could be considered impractical, but to everyone their own, right?
As far as we are aware, no changes were made to the vehicle’s drivetrain. This is hardly something to be sad about, though, given that the A110 is a pleasure to drive as it is. Powered by a 1.8-liter, four-cylinder engine with 252 hp (188 kW) and 320 Nm (238 lb-ft) of torque, it is agile and responsive, and Alpina’s chassis tweaks improve things even further.
Working in tandem with a seven-speed DCT, the engine gets the RWD coupe from standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.5 seconds. This is impressive, but understandable given that the A110 weighs in at a mere 1,100 kilograms (2,425 lbs).
