Matt Hagan flaunts his insane 11,000-HP dragster beast

Matt Hagan, twice champion of the NHRA racing series, has shown us his all-new dragster stylized to deceive some people into thinking it is a heavily modded Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody.

The extreme ride, which Matt has dubbed ‘Funny Car’, comes powered by an 8.1-liter engine guzzling rocket fuel. It can hit 544 km/h (338 mph) in ludicrous 3.8 seconds slamming the driver into the seat with the force of 4.0g.

Aside from being able to deliver 11,000 horsepower (~8,200 kilowatts) to the wheels, the engine is unique in another way: namely, it is missing any kind of water-based cooling circuit. Before you act surprised, the reason is because it never stays on for long periods of time.

The fuel is 90% nitrous methane and 10% spirits. It is said to be 2.3 times more powerful than the best racing-grade fuel and has a beneficial side effect of cooling the car’s innards down when it transitions from liquid to gas. As for the Funny Car’s appetites, let us just say it can devour up to 75 liters per drag strip and leave it at that.

As we said above, the one-off build has been conceptualized to resemble the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody. To that end, it sports widebody panels, 20-inch wheels, Brembo brakes and tire stickers.
