An odd Porsche Panamera gets spied testing on the Nordschleife

A highly unusual test build of the Porsche Panamera has recently been spotted making circles at the Nürburgring Complex in Germany. The car had quad tailpipes facing down and an extremely low ride height.

Automotive media seem to agree that this could be the next version of the Panamera expected to be unveiled sometime around 2020. According to rumors, it will be getting an extra 150 hp (112 kW), resulting in a total output of 830 hp (620 kW). Right now, the Panamera Hybrid sits at the top of the range with 680 hp (508 kW). Perhaps the performance boost necessitates curving the tailpipes down towards the road to reduce engine noise levels in accordance with the latest regulations.

If the 2020 Panamera indeed gets 830 horsepower, it will then be able to challenge other four- and five-door supercars for the best Nürburgring lap time.

Another rumor suggests that the Panamera facelift may bring along a two-door coupe version, inspired by the Porsche 928 series.
