This rare 1994 Subaru could be yours for as little as $10k

J-Spec Auto Sports, a company based in Richmond, VA, USA, is currently offering a rare Subaru SVX coupe in good condition for a mere $9,995. The counter has 77,000 miles (~47,800 km) on it.

The Subaru SVX – which is also known as the Alcyone on its domestic market of Japan – was in production in the 1990s. Its Japanese name refers to the brightest star in the open star cluster of The Pleiades. Indeed, the model is widely considered one of Subaru’s most visually striking and compelling. Designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, the production car is barely different from its concept version.

Back in its zenith time, the sporty coupe sold like hot cakes, despite the forbidding price tag. A total of 25,000 Alcyone/SVX rolled off the lines throughout the entire production timeframe. Despite all this, Subaru claims it did not earn a cent from the series, instead losing around $3,000 from each unit sold.

Given that the car is still highly sought after on the used market, this example with its 230-hp (172-kW) engine and $9,995 asking price will likely find a new owner really soon.
