Video: Mercedes AMG GT demolishes fire hydrant after colliding with Range Rover

An unusual, but spectacular road accident happened in Los-Angeles when a Mercedes AMG GT driver ran the red light into more trouble than he bargained for.

According to witnesses, the car was moving at 60 mph (~100 km/h) when it ran the red light as a crossroads and proceeded to hit a Range Rover. The impact sent it on a collision course with a fire hydrant. As a result, roads and pavements of the LA Capetown District went underwater for several hours, as the car stood on the hydrant receiving 5,700 liters (1,500 U.S. gallons) of water per minute at 17-bar pressure level.

Both cars (especially the Mercedes culprit) were damaged in the incident, but both drivers and the passers-by escaped completely unharmed.
