Volvo launches Recharge range for EVs

According to Volvo’s currently adopted development strategy, the company should become fully CO₂-neutral until 2040 and reduce the carbon footprint generated by its cars by 40 percent over the course of the next five years.

The Swedish premium marque intends to keep increasing the production volumes of purely electric cars. These will be combined under the new Recharge brand, and the Volvo XC40 SUV will be the first to get the Recharge badge. Nature-friendly vehicles should make up at least 50% of the annual sales in five years’ time, according to the plan.

It should be noted that Daimler AG also plans a complete switch to CO₂-neutral production. In three years, the automotive corporation plans to unravel a network of charging stations powered by sustainable energy sources such as wind farms and hydroelectric power plants.
