Aston Martin DBX debuts at the LA Show

Aston Martin has unveiled the DBX – its first crossover vehicle so far – during the first media day of the 2019 Los-Angeles International Auto Show. Just as we expected, the car comes powered by the 4.0-liter Mercedes-AMG V8 TT engine linked to a nine-speed automatic.

The SUV packs 550 hp (410 kW) along with 700 Nm (516 pound-feet) of torque and features an all-wheel drive system, active inter-axle diff lock, electronic rear diff lock, and an active-valve exhaust system.

Sprinting from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) occurs in 4.5 seconds, and the top speed amounts to an impressive 291 km/h (180.8 mph). The Lamborghini Urus is marginally faster, but the British luxury carmaker appears unfettered by such trivialities, emphasizing that the DBX is first and foremost an opulent and extremely customizable SUV offering unparalleled comfort for the driver and passengers.

The digital dashboard measures 12.3 inches across, while the central display lags slightly behind with its 10.25 inches. The trunk size is 832 liters (29.4 cubic feet), and you can fold the rear seats 40:20:40 to expand it to 1,540 liters (54.4 cubic feet).

Aston Martin claims that CEO Andy Palmer himself will personally inspect the first 500 copies of the DBX for build quality. Customers who ordered these vehicles will receive printed photo albums detailing the assembly process, along with an invitation to a private party.

The Aston Martin DBX will retail starting from $193,000 in the USA.
