GAC shows a six-seater sedan study

Chinese automaker GAC unveiled the Eno.146 Concept at the recent 2019 Auto Guangzhou expo, claiming it was the single most aerodynamically efficient car in history.

At 0.146, the aerodynamic drag ratio is impressive, indeed. However, the Ford Probe V Concept revealed as far back as 1985 had 0.137, and the Volkswagen XL1, which came out in a limited series, had the record-breaking 0.189. In view of this, GAC’s claim is unsupported by factual evidence.

Still, the prototype looks slim and sleek and actively uses composites in the bodywork, which reduces its curb weight. Inside, there is a wide display spanning the entire front panel width and a rectangular steering wheel.

The seating formula is perhaps the most interesting feature: aside from the usual four seats, there is a separate seat moved slightly to the back from the second row, and a stock rear-facing children’s seat.

The GAC Eno.146 will never hit the mass market as is, but some of its know-how and tech will likely find use in the future releases by the company.
