New VW Golf Mk8 hits Europe with €27,510 Life Edition

The eighth generation of the Volkswagen Golf is now available for purchase throughout the European continent, although the options are fairly limited.

You can purchase your Mk8 Golf with either of the two gasoline engines rated at 130 and 150 hp (97 and 112 kilowatts, respectively), or you may opt for one of the diesels good for 115 and 150 hp (86 and 112 kW). The strongest diesel mill comes bundled with a seven-speed DSG transmission, while the rest make do with six-speed manual.

Next year’s additions to the lineup will include the cheapest entry-level version (€20,000), as well as the two previously announced premium trims: Style and R-Line.

The eighth instalment in the Volkswagen Golf franchise came into the spotlight in October sporting unitized MQB architecture, brand-new design, substantially reworked interior, and plenty of new options.
