Novitec takes the McLaren 720S Spider to a whole new level of luxury

Germany-based high-end tuner Novitec has unveiled its latest vision of the McLaren 720S in its Spider implementation. The complete list of changes is massive, so let us enjoy just the highlights.

Most noticeably, the supercar gets the N-Largo widebody kit made of the company’s signature Forged Carbon. Included are a new hood, side mirror caps, lower skirts and fenders. Customers may also opt for a special rear diffuser, as well as an aerodynamic extension for the stock active rear wing. Most of the parts flaunt the expensive ‘raw carbon fiber’ look, but some can be painted to match the body.

The program also includes 21-inch multi-piece forged wheels based on the MC2 model and modified to suit the kit. Their concave spokes and centerlock design add a great deal of sportiness to the already exquisite sports car. As for the exhaust system, the tuner suggests upgrading it to a custom unit made of Inconel (a heat-resistant alloy actively used in Formula 1).

The interior is classical Novitec, which means abundant quantities of leather, Alcantara and carbon fiber everywhere along with unparalleled attention to detail. The tuner recommends reducing the weight of the body and cabin as much as possible for track use – and this makes good sense, considering that the McLaren 720S Spider gets three power upgrades in this special edition. The top-spec Stage 3 kit squeezes as much as 806 hp (600 kW) along with 878 Nm (650 lb-ft) of torque out of the standard 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8. Tuned like this, the Spider needs mere 2.7 seconds to zap from nothing to 100 km/h (62 mph), and 7.5 seconds to hit 200 km/h (124 mph). The top speed rises to 346 km/h (215 mph).
