GMC Canyon AT4 veers off the trodden path
GMC has announced the off-road-focused ‘AT4’ version of its Canyon pickup truck. The changes extend beyond simple eye candy, so let us have a better look.
Outside, the truck sports a wider radiator grille, towing eyes painted red, and dark chrome accents. 17-inch wheels wear 31-inch off-road rubber, and the cabin looks elegant with its contrasty stitching and AT4 badges on the headrests.
From the technical aspect, the car boasts revised suspension, enhanced hill descent assist, additional transfer case protection, and a limited-slip rear differential.
The Denali top trim has also been upgraded with a different grille, new interior themes (Cocoa/Dark Atmosphere), and occasional aluminum and elm wood inserts.
Both the AT4 and the AT4 Denali can be had with either of the two available engines: 3.6 V6 TFSI (312 hp / 233 kW, 373 Nm / 275 lb-ft) or 2.8 TDI (183 hp / 136 kW, 500 Nm / 370 lb-ft).
Sales will start later in 2020, and the prices are still pending.
