Ancient Ford Mustang Fastback lives again as the Villain

We have already told you a few times about Classic Recreations, a tuner workshop based in Oklahoma, USA that produces one wonderful restomod after another. This awesome Ford Mustang ‘Villain’ is one of their latest works.

A Mustang Fastback, which was overwhelmingly popular in the late 1960s, provides the starting point this time around. The tuner fits it with a 7.0-liter naturally aspirated V8 rated at 545 hp (406 kW), a Tremec manual transmission, RWD, and a Magnaflow exhaust system.

Still not quite satisfied with the standard engine output, the team adds a Roush Performance supercharger and thus extracts 770 hp (574 kW) out of the mill, bringing the half-a-century-old pony car on par with the last year’s Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 in terms of performance.

Classic Recreations took great care to keep the iconic appearance of the Fastback intact. The body received its mandatory rust-removal-and-painting treatment, but aside from a few carbon fiber decorations, the matte grey restomod looks stock. Then, of course, there is the unique CR Villain hood graphics and the specially designed rim set.

Inside, the restorer overhauls the upholstery and replaces the seats, the steering wheel and the safety belts with their modern sports-oriented counterparts.
