Video: Bentley piecing together the Bentayga Speed

Luxury carmaker Bentley has released a small behind-the-scenes video dedicated to the production process of its Bentayga Speed SUV. Apparently, each car takes 127 workhours, or 16 days, to produce.

The footage includes the various body paint stages, the assembly of the six-liter W12 engine, and the creation of solid-wood inserts for the interior. Each SUV needs 14 cow skins for the cabin trim, plus some Alcantara.

A robot automatically applies the paint and the lacquer to the car body, but polishing and insulation happens in manual mode.

As for the powertrain, the engine alone takes 13 hours to piece together from 294 parts. Thirty specialized employees handle this task for every production unit.

The final 52-hour-long stage includes QA, general testing, and breaking-in.
