Volkswagen Golf R says goodbye to Australia with the Final Edition

VW Australia has launched the Final Edition of the Golf R Mk7. The production run includes 450 hatchbacks, 150 of them painted in exclusive hues, with prices starting from 57,990 AUD (39,790 USD).

The exclusive paint choices are Violet Touch, Victory Blue, and Viper Green, applied by hand in a dedicated painting facility.

Unlike the usual Golf R – like the one depicted in the video here – the Final Edition boasts 19-inch black wheels, glossy black mirror caps, a panoramic glass roof, Nappa leather on the seats, and a Dynaudio speaker set.

The series comes powered by a 2.0-liter turbo-four engine rated at 290 hp (216 kW) and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) of torque, mated to a seven-speed DSG.
