GM Origin Concept aspires to reinvent public transport

Cruise, a technological company owned by General Motors, has unveiled a sef-driving shuttle bus concept called Origin.

The company said it believed that the transports of our nearest future should be electric, fully autonomous, environmentally clean and power-efficient.

The Cruise Origin comes based on a brand-new electric platform designed by GM. It relies on its numerous cameras and sensors to read the environment, can track multiple objects simultaneously even in total darkness, and can find its way through heavysnow or rain – at least, this is what the manufacturer claims.

The service life of such a car should exceed 1,500,000 kilometers (900,000 miles).

Production prospects and terms remain unknown.
