Ancient 1972 Chevy Blazer does squats for a change

The old first-gen Chevrolet Blazer K/K5 is a veritable colossus compared to the modern SUVs. On the plus side, it offers plenty of cabin space and great ride height. The main downside is that you have to visit a gym regularly to be able to put something big and heavy into the trunk compartment and retrieve it later. The owner of this particular Blazer found a smart solution, though.

The 1972 restomod received an AccuAir suspension kit that enabled lowering and raising it in a matter of seconds. With a system like this, you can bring the trunk down to a manageable height for loading and unloading.

Of course, this project is not all about the suspension. The body has been fully restored and painted dark green with white roof and chrome accents (door handles, radiator grille, side mirrors, and wheels). The abundance of chrome gives the Blazer a distinct retro vibe, but we like it exactly this way.

Powering the venerable SUV is a new 6.2-liter Chevrolet LS3 V8 engine working in tandem with a four-speed automatic transmission and a modern air filter.

Finally yet importantly, this Blazer restomod features an all-new interior that only just manages to look authentic thanks to stylized modern components. Do not be mistaken: everything here, starting with the dash panel and ending with the window raiser handles, is new.
