4th-gen Kia Sorento premiere date announced

The Korean automaker will be taking the wraps off the updated SUV at the Geneva IMS starting on March 3, 2020. A few belated teaser pics accompany the press release, but we suggest you look at the spy photos instead.

The fourth iteration of the Sorento utilizes an all-new mid-size SUV platform and offers more inner space than some of its larger cousins – at least, this is what Kia wants you to believe.

The model will ship in FWD and AWD versions with four- and six-cylinder engines under the hood. It is also official that a Sorento Hybrid will be available for the first time ever. An unconfirmed source claiming inside knowledge of the company’s affairs adds that there will be two hybrids rather than just one: a mild one and a PHEV. This remains without comment on behalf of Kia.

Further improvements include a wider range of electronic driver aids and a seriously updated infotainment system.

The original Kia Sorento came out in 2002 and has since old over 3,000,000 units worldwide, becoming one of the manufacturer’s staple products.
