DS 9 debuts in Europe

The premium brand’s new executive saloon is essentially a stretched, reshaped and better equipped Peugeot 508 L – but the latter bit goes pretty far.

At the time of launch, the DS 9 only ships as a hybrid vehicle with 225 hp (168 kW) and front-wheel drive. A high-end version with 360 hp (268 kW) and AWD should become available later on.

Other than that, the DS 9 for Europe looks just like its Chinese counterpart, with the same chrome accents around the headlights and the front bumper, the concealed door handles, and the hood fin.

In turn, the cabin layout is typical DS 7 Crossback. Similarities stretch as far as the steering wheel, the Breguet clock, the digital dash panel, the center tunnel and the 12-inch multimedia screen.

Options include smart ambient lighting, automatic LED turn blinkers, leather seats with plenty of premium features, traffic sign recognition, an SAE Level II self-driving system, and night vision.
