2,000HP Lotus Evija ready for production

The British all-electric hypercar should become available in summer, and Lotus has finished building the production facility according to schedule.

The factory lies close to the Lotus HQ and proving grounds in Hethel, England. The company says it will begin assembling and testing the final pre-production copies soon. Lotus Cars CEO Phil Popham calls the enterprise one of the most technically advanced production facilities out there, and the Evija one of the most compelling vehicles in the expanding ‘electric hypercar’ segment of the market.

The 2,000-horsepower Lotus Evija emerges in a series of 130 units and is already sold out. Each coupe only needs three seconds to sprint 0-100 km/h (0-60 mph), maxes out close to 320 km/h (200 mph), and has 420 km (261 miles) of range.
