Batman gets his ride confiscated in Moscow

Watch the video to see the Batmobile detained and towed away in Russia over the lack of license.

A road police officer from the State Automobile Inspection pulled the car to the curb in the capital city of Moscow when he discovered that it was missing its license plate. The car was then towed to an impoundment lot; to prevent damage to the rarity, the police carefully wrapped in in multiple layers of film. It remains unannounced at this point who the car belonged to.

A similar-looking car replica was imported into Russia from the USA last fall, fetching the seller nearly $1,000,000 USD. It was a precise recreation of Batman’s transportation of choice from the Batman vs. Superman movie. At around six meters (20 feet) long, four meters (13 ft.) wide and 1.5 metric tons of weight (3,300 lbs.), it was found too wide to be street-legal under any conditions.

Speaking of equipment and options, the original replica boasted automatic doors, four air shocks with their own independent lift mechanisms, a quick-release steering wheel and bulletproof windows. Once in Russia, it additionally gained a heat vision camera with a 255x zoom, a night vision camera, a laser sight, and a fake machine gun complete with ‘shooting’ SFX.
