Hyundai i20 first interior pic revealed

The South Korean carmaker has shown us what the driver’s cockpit looks like in the 3rd-gen i20. ‘Nothing like the current generation’ sums it up pretty well.

The steering wheel, the digital dashboard, the 10.25-inch multimedia display, and the contour lighting – all of the above is new. Overall, the new i20 looks much closer to the Mk8 Hyundai Sonata, with its air deflectors, wheel, and single display unit combining the dash and entertainment screens. The HVAC unit is pretty much the only major difference.

The i20 takes advantage of higher-quality trim materials in its new iteration, as well as a Bose audio system and a wireless charger, the company announces.

The hatchback will reach the market with a choice among two 1.0-liter turbo-three engines rated at 100 and 120 hp (75 and 90 kW, respectively), a 84hp (63kW) naturally aspirated unit, and a mild hybrid powertrain with so far undisclosed specs. The transmission will be manual, but DCT will be available as an option.
