Momo tackles the U.S.-spec BMW E36 M3

While the whole world shuts down for quarantine, let us look back at those happy times when Italian tuners took up U.S.-made rides designed in Germany for tuning, and no one felt bad afterwards.

The BMW E36 M3 you see here came out in the United States in the 1990s era, packing a naturally aspirated I6 engine rated at 240 hp (180 kW). Note that its Europe counterpart sourced a superior 321 hp (239 kW) from its completely different 3.2-liter I6 mill featuring a single-throttle-valve injection system.

Renowned Italian automobile customizer Momo worked on this one. It fitted the coupe with an extra front spoiler, a new black kidney grille, a wide rear diffuser and a sports-grade exhaust system. As for the rear wing, it look like the stock part raised on a pair of aftermarket legs.

The biggest highlight of the project comes in the shape of classical MOMO Heritage 6 wheels finished in Bronze. The set measures 18 inches across and 8.5 inches wide on the front axle, while the rear axle takes advantage of a wider 10-inch pair. The suspension is lowered, and a peek behind the spokes reveals new perforated brake discs.
