New BMW 4 Series Coupe (G22) revealed at last

BMW has held an online launch event dedicated to the next-gen 4 Series Coupe (G22), showing us a car that becomes sportier and more comfortable while staying true to its conservative design. The production will begin next month.

The new 4 Series boasts a vertical radiator grille that extends as far as the lower rim of the front bumper. The air intakes sport M-style meshes, but there’s little exterior novelty other than that.

The cabin is where things get interesting. The finishing materials are top-notch, the driver’s cockpit features a single screen combining the functions of a 12.3-inch dash panel and a 10.25-inch infotainment display. The back row is represented by two separate seats with headrests, and there is a 3D HUD display.

In Europe, the model will ship in three gas-powered versions (420i, 430i and M440i xDrive) and four diesel ones (420d, 420d xDrive, 430d xDrive and M440d xDrive). The gasoline lineup brings 184, 258 and 374 horsepower to the table (137, 192 and 279 kilowatts, respectively), while the diesel range spans from 190 through 286 to 340 hp (142, 213 and 254 kW). All versions receive assistance from electric starters, making them mild hybrids, and use the latest version of the eight-speed Steptronic gearbox.

Standard equipment includes DSC, six airbags, LED headlights, LED anti-fog lights, M aero kit, 18-inch alloy wheels, three-zone HVAC, leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel, heated sport seats, and plenty of high-tech assistance features.

Tick all the boxes, and you get adaptive steering, performance brakes, M Sport differential and suspension, advanced cruise control, 19-inch wheels, an M rear wing, leather interior trim, high-end power seats with memory function, and a Hi-Fi audio set comprising 12 speakers.
