The SVE Syclone debuts as the “world-fastest” pickup truck

U.S.-based car customizer Specialty Vehicles Engineering has unveiled the Syclone, a high-performance modification of the GMC Canyon pickup that will emerge in a batch of 50 units.

The Canyon leaves the factory with a 3.6-liter V6 under the hood, which the tuner promptly swaps for a 5.3-liter V8 rated at 760 hp (567 kW) and 813 Nm (600 lb-ft) of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission sends the momentum to all four wheels.

The engine boasts enhanced cooling and fuel systems, as well as a supercharger, forged parts, and a stainless-steel crankshaft.

The company does not reveal just how fast exactly the car is, but given that the regular Canyon only packs 461 hp (344 kW) and runs 0-60 mph in 4.3 seconds, it is safe to assume that the Cyclone manages the same in well under four seconds.

Further highlights of the new SVE Syclone V8 include low rear suspension, performance brakes, 20-inch wheels, different hood cover and side sills, and a hard cover for the truck bed.
