Chevrolet Corvette Z06 discovered on a test track

Following the premiere of the mid-engined Chevrolet Corvette C8 last year, the company has started testing its high-performance Z06 version. Today, this one has been discovered and photographed on a test track.

Compared against an earlier prototype from several months ago (see video), the new test car flaunts a massive rear wing that was previously reserved for the range-topping ZR1 and still isn’t available for the regular Corvette C8.

Other than this, the thorough black wrap prevents us from seeing any new details – even the wheels wear covers to conceal their design. The engine range remains likewise unannounced, but rumors persist that the new Z06 will be getting the naturally aspirated V8 of the C8.R racer.

The 2021 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 might as well premiere later this year, but this remains unconfirmed.
