Cadillac flashes its Lyriq EV on video

Cadillac let the world know it was working on an all-electric crossover SUV in early 2019, but it wasn’t until today that a video teaser finally made it online.

The newcomer is called Lyriq, and all you can see is its general silhouette, the backlit radiator grille, the large edgy air intakes with DRLs tucked in, vertical taillights, and rather unusually styled C-pillars.

The Cadillac Lyriq had been scheduled for an earlier presentation, but Covid-19 pushed those plans back multiple times.  The premiere is now set on August 6, 2020, and the manufacturer admits it won’t be showing us the final production car. It won’t be a concept, either – just a pre-production sample that is still eligible to change later if the company sees fit.

The availability timeframe remains unannounced.
