Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series spied underway to its July 24 reveal

The racetrack-focused Mercedes-AMG GT will first show up before the general audience at the Chengdu Motor Show on July 24, 2020, the press release claims.

Michael Kneller, AMG Head of Sales and Product Management, had let it slip before that the range-topping coupe would only reach the production lines at the end of the year. Now, it is official that the company will begin taking pre-orders straight after the Chengdu premiere.

Camouflaged prototypes of the AMG GT have been sighted on public roads multiple times recently, but the media consensus was that the launch was still far away.

The model will likely hit the market equipped with Mercedes’ signature 4.0-liter, twin-turbo V8 mill rated at 700+ hp (522+ kW) and 800+ Nm (590+ lb-ft) of torque.
