Elon Musk on Amphibious Cybertruck: “I think we could make that work”

A short animation by Slav Popovski was posted online a few days ago showing an amphibious Cybertruck pickup with a fisherman sitting on top of it holding a fishing rod. Things got lively when Elon Musk himself commented, “I think we could make that work.”

The idea of turning a stainless-steel, bulletproof truck into an amphibious vehicle may strike you as weird, but Tesla CEO has a record for carrying out such projects. Remember the Boring Company Flamethrower? Few people thought he would approve it into production, but he did – and it was a great commercial success. Furthermore, it looks like the upcoming Tesla Roadster will indeed come equipped with optional cold-air thrusters the likes of which are used in the aeronautical industry.

At any rate, there is no denying the fact that Musk is very partial to amphibious cars. He even bought the Lotus Esprit that starred in the 1977 James Bond movie entitled “The Spy Who Loved Me” and based the Cybertruck design on it.
