Audi e-tron S & S Sportback go on sale in Europe

Audi prepared quite a treat for its European customers by releasing its performance-oriented e-tron S and e-tron S Sportback SUVs in the Old World countries. Both models pack three electric engines, efficient aerodynamic kits, chassis tweaks and the dedicated Drift Mode.

Once you activate Overboost, the car will deliver 503 hp (375 kW) along with 973 Nm (726 lb-ft) of torque to the wheels. This mode lasts for 8 seconds and takes the bulky SUV from standstill to moving at 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.5 seconds. Other than that, the standard performance lies at 435 hp (324 kW) and 808 Nm (596 lb-ft) of torque.

There is only one traction battery on offer, which comes rated at 95 kilowatt-hours and delivers around 359 kilometers (223 miles) of uninterrupted driving.

Both EVs take advantage of reconfigured adaptive suspension that you can drop and lift by 3 inches (76 mm) with a single button push. The aerodynamics is said to be quite impressive, particularly thanks to the front intakes that automatically shut themselves when not needed (and briefly open whenever air cooling is required for the AWD system components and brakes).

Among other things, the e-tron S and e-tron S Sportback flaunt extended wheel arches, aggressively shaped bumpers, wheels measuring 20 and 21 inches in diameter, sport seats and ornamental aluminum and carbon-fiber inserts.

The sales have already started, and the minimum price tag in Great Britain is £87,000.
