Hennessey launches a power kit for the Corvette Z06 (C7)

Hennessey Performance keeps working on a full-fledged tuning kit for the latest C8 Corvette, but so far, only a stainless-steel exhaust system has made it into the store. In contrast, the boost it launches today for the C7 Corvette Z06 is much more substantial.

The kit is compatible with Targa and Roadster versions of the car, as well as both the manual and the automatic transmission. Improvements for the stock 6.2-liter supercharged V8 include new cylinder heads, a distribution shaft, a crank pulley, air intake and cooling circuits, power-controlled inlet and exhaust valves, an exhaust system, and a software upgrade.

As a result, the engine rises from 650 hp (485 kW) and 881 Nm (650 lb-ft) of torque to 850 hp (634 kW) and 969 Nm (715 Nm). This enables the previous-gen Z06 to sprint to 97 km/h (60 mph) in just 2.6 seconds instead of the usual 2.95 s and cover a quarter-mile strip in 10.3 s instead of 10.95.

The whole package costs nearly $20,000 and includes special badges, branded floor mats, installation and a warranty spanning 24 months or 38,600 km (24,000 miles).

Buying a new Z06 C7 isn’t an option anymore, but given that 39,940 cars found their owners in 2015 through 2019, selling the 100 promised HPE850 kits shouldn’t be hard at all.
