Check out the Idumban, India’s priciest Ford Ranger/Endeavor

The Ford Ranger has lent its chassis to various SUV conversions: Everest in Australia and some other countries, Endeavor in India, and so on. The vehicle depicted here is not mass-produced, though, having been created for an Indian blogger, nature lover and photographer.

The hardcore luxury off-roader draws its name from the national mythology and boasts a 180mm (7-inch) increase in ride height. Custom shock absorbers boast as many as twelve adjustments, and 20-inch wheels come wrapped in meaty 35-inch tires. The list goes on to include a complete body kit, a carbon hood cover, a snorkel and fender extensions adding whopping 200 millimeters (7.8 inches) to the car width.

The photos and the videos additionally reveal third-party lighting and engine guard plates. The engine sound in the video suggests that a gas-chugging V8 might be under the hood, but a label on the body seems to say the stock 3.2-liter diesel is still in place. In that case, a sound imitation module may be involved.

The Idumban is said to be India’s most expensive Endeavor conversion to date, but to specific figures exist to support that claim.
