BRABUS announces a tuning plan for the Mercedes GLB-Class

BRABUS, renowned Mercedes tuning vendor from Germany, has shared the first renderings of its upcoming options and accessories for the Mercedes-Benz GLB (X 247). There are plentiful upgrades both aesthetic and practical to choose from.

The list opens with body kit parts and exterior stuff: front apron details, roof-mounted lights, a rear spoiler, 90mm (3.5”) quad exhaust tips with a dark chrome finish, and the like. AMG Line owners get a wider overall selection, but the “regular” GLB isn’t far behind, either.

Then there are lightweight forged alloys available in 18, 19 and 20 inch sizes with Yokohama, Continental and Pirelli tires (all three brands are official partners of BRABUS). Height-adjustable springs aren’t there yet, but you may opt for a lowering kit (-30mm / -1.2”) or a lift kit (+35mm / +1.4”).

The GLB 250 spec, which comes with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine worth 270 hp (201 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque, gets an ECU tune for added power. The plug-and-play module takes a few minutes to install and raises the output by healthy 46 hp (34 kW) and 80 Nm (60 lb-ft). With the mod installed, the bulky SUV reaches 100 km/h (62 mph) in 6.6 seconds and doesn’t max out until 240 km/h (149 mph).

Wrapping up the list are dozens of interior options, and BRABUS also processes individual makeover orders. Later on, the company plans to release boost kits for the rest of the GLB lineup.
