ABT Sportsline celebrates 125 years in business by introducing the ABT RSQ8-R
Audi’s most faithful tuner is celebrating its 125th birthday this year. To reward clients and fans for their loyalty, the company will be making 125 custom Audi RS Q8 builds complete with a carbon-fiber body kit and a boosted engine.
Called ABT RSQ8-R, the extreme SUV comes powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 massaged to deliver 740 hp (552 kW) to the wheels instead of the usual 600 hp (447 kW). The torque rises from 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) to 920 Nm (680 lb-ft), and sprinting from zero to 100 km/h now takes 3.4 seconds instead of 3.8. The top speed lies as high as 315 km/h (195.7 mph), which is quite an achievement for an SUV like this.
From the technical point of view, the tuning kit consists of an in-house-designed ECU, a new intercooler and a performance exhaust system.
The body kit is made completely of carbon fiber and incorporates fender extensions, a front splitter, side mirror caps, a rear spoiler and side skirts.
The cabin features new seats, steering wheel, center console, front armrest and engine start button.
