Tuned Lambo Urus vs. Rolls-Royce Wraith: The Unlikely Drag Race

U.S. tuner Hennessey Performance has recently boosted a Lamborghini Urus to 750 hp (559 kW) and was looking for a worthy opponent to test it against when this Rolls-Royce Wraith turned up. Talk about unconventional choices!

Now, we all know the Wraith is a vehicle aimed at the utmost luxury and comfort, often driven by a professional driver and not usually seen on a racetrack. Having said that, it does pack quite a bit of raw performance, its 6.6-liter twin-turbocharged V12 hitting the wheels with 624 hp (465 kW) along with 820 Nm (605 lb-ft) of maximum torque. This enables it to hit 97 km/h (60 mph) in 4.5 seconds and only max out at 250 km/h (155 mph) because the electronics says so.

The Italian luxobarge packs 641 hp (478 kW) and 850 Nm (627 lb-ft) of torque straight off the assembly line and zaps from standstill to 97 km/h (60 mph) in 3.5 seconds. When properly massaged by Hennessey, it gains another 100+ hp and performs the sprint in mere 2.65 seconds. To top things off, it weighs over 230 kilos (500 lbs) less than the RR.

In other words, it looks like the Rolls-Royce Wraith doesn’t even stand a chance in this race. But is it really that slow, or are we just underestimating it? Watch the video and find out for yourself!
