Skoda unveils Enyaq iV, its first BEV

The Czech carmaker has held a presentation dedicated to the Enyaq iV, its pioneering all-electric SUV running on the MEB architecture of the Volkswagen ID.4.

The car is 4,669 millimeters (15.32 feet) long, 1,879 mm (6.16 ft.) wide and 1,616 mm (5.3 ft.) tall with 2,765 mm (9.07 ft.) between the axles. The trunk volume amounts to 585 liters (20.66 cubic feet), and at 0.27 versus 0.28, the drag ratio is even better than that of the ID.4.

The entry-spec called Enyaq 50 iV packs a single electric engine rated at 148 hp (110 kW) and 220 Nm (162 lb-ft) of torque. Mounted on the rear axle, the motor takes it from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 11.4 seconds. The traction battery comes rated at 55 kWh (nominal) or 52 kWh (actual) capacity, which translates into 340 kilometers (211 miles) of WLTP-rated driving range.

The middling Enyaq 60 iV spec boasts 180 hp (134 kW) and 310 Nm (230 lb-ft) of torque, enabling it to hit 100 km/h in 8.7 seconds. The battery size is 62 kWh (actual: 58 kWh), and the range is as good as 390 km (242 miles).

The Enyaq 80 iV is the longest hauler of the bunch with its 510 km (317 miles) on a single charge. It still has one electric motor, but with 204 hp (152 kW) and 310 Nm (230 lb-ft) of torque, sprinting to 100 km/h is a matter of 8.5 seconds. The battery size is 82 kWh (actual: 77 kWh). A 125-kW charging station replenishes the power from 5% to 80% in mere 38 minutes.

At the top of the range are Enyaq 80x iV (265 hp / 198 kW, 425 Nm / 313 lb-ft) and Enyaq RS iV (306 hp / 228 kW, 460 Nm / 339 lb-ft). Both are dual-motor vehicles fitted with the largest battery size and capable of covering 460 kilometers (285 miles) on a charge. The 80x needs 6.9 seconds for the sprint, whereas the RS manages in 6.2 seconds. The RS also maxes out at 180 km/h (112 mph), whereas all other specs hit their speed ceiling at 160 km/h (99 mph).

The 80x trim unlocks access to the Crystal Face Fascia composed of 130 LEDs, while the RS and Founders Edition trims have it already included. The Founders Edition additionally gets 21-inch wheels, unique bumpers, ecoSuite Design Selection interior and a special emblem on the steering wheel. The production run is limited to 1,895 units, celebrating the year the company was established.

The Skoda Enyaq iV will go on sale next year starting with the Founders Edition.
