Volvo’s Advanced Air Cleaner filters out 95% harmful particles

Volvo has introduced a new in-car air filtering tech, the Advanced Air Cleaner. The system can deter particles as tiny as 2.5μm, potentially preventing serious diseases of cardiovascular, respiratory and even oncological kind.

The Advanced Air Cleaner measures the pollution ratios and displays real-time air cleaning dynamics so that you can see for yourself how efficient the tech is. The data is output directly to the central display of the Volvo car.

From the technical standpoint, the filtering unit consists of an ionizer and a single synthetic filter. Working in conjunction, they are said to be able to stop up to 95 percent of suspended outdoor particles from getting inside the car.
