Another old Defender gets Corvette-swapped

British tuner Osprey Custom Cars has some experience swapping old Land Rover Defenders to Chevrolet Corvette engines (see video for just one example). A few days ago, the 6.2-liter LS3 V8 found its way inside a 1985MY off-roader.

The engine stems from an old C6 ‘Vette and pumps out 441 hp (329 kW) along with 569 Nm (420 lb-ft) of maximum torque. 6L80E Series auto transmission sends the momentum to the wheels.

Other features of the project include improvements to the fuel and cooling systems, disc brakes, Terra Firma suspension springs and heavy-duty axles. The Kenswick Green body has been thoroughly restored along with the frame, and some exterior parts – such as doors – are new.

The cabin of the 35-year-old Def sports light beige leather upholstery with a checkered pattern. The ceiling benefits from some Alcantara, and a custom add-on module sits on the center tunnel, providing easy access to transmission settings.
