JFK’s Lincoln stretch limo set to go under the hammer for $0.5M+

Bonhams has posted an unusual auction item: a 1963 Lincoln Continental convertible that U.S. President John Kennedy used shortly before his tragic demise.

Kennedy and his wife received the foam-white Continental as a gift prior to their visit to Fort Worth on November 21, 1963. The car he was in when an assassin shot him in the head was his next one.

Despite the venerable age, the Lincoln is reported to be in superb condition. The seller claims it has undergone complete restoration and is now perfectly suited for a highlight spot in a private car collection. It is not road-legal by any means.

Powering the vintage ride is a 7.6-liter V8 rated at 345 hp (257 kW), which uses a three-speed automatic transmission to drive the wheels. The interior sports an abundance of red leather.

The price of the lot is estimated at U.S. $500,000.
