Hyundai unveils the Ioniq Interior Concept

The South Korean automotive giant has revealed a series of photos demonstrating its vision of a future car’s interior space. Let’s zoom in and study the details.

The main passenger area of the Ioniq vehicle shown houses a curved, ceiling-mounted LCD screen 77 inches across. There are audio speakers built into headrests, and a robot vacuum cleaner keeps the cabin clean along with UV lamps. According to the developer, the car can even clean your shoes and clothing while you are underway to your destination.

The Ioniq 5 (see video) will be Hyundai’s first production car to get at least some of these in-car features. The coupe-shaped SUV will debut with video cameras instead of side mirrors and full three meters of wheelbase.

The Ioniq 5 will ship with batteries rated at 58 and 73 kilowatt-hours, and the latter will reportedly be enough for 450 kilometers (280 miles) of range.
