2nd-gen Subaru Levorg hits showrooms in Japan

The second generation of the Subaru Levorg wagon is slightly larger than the first, has a different exterior styling and comes with a new engine in Japan, where it is already available.

We have the new design direction named Bolder to thank for the bulky and edgy exterior of the family hauler. The car is now 4,755 mm long (+65), 1,795 mm wide (+15) and 1,500 mm tall (+15) with 2,670 mm of wheelbase (+20). The road clearance is only 145 mm (5.66 inches). The trunk offers 492 liters of space (17.37 cu. ft.).

Powering the newcomer is a 1.8-liter opposite-cylinder engine turbocharged to deliver 177 hp (132 kW) and 300 Nm (163 lb-ft) of torque. The Lineartronic wedge-chain variator supports manual switching, and the AWD system has a coupling on the rear axle.

Inside, the Starlink infotainment system boasts an 11.6-inch touchscreen display augmented with hardware controls down both sides. The 12.3-inch digital dash with multiple selectable views is also part of standard equipment.

The EyeSight assist package has been amended with a lane control system and AEB. Customers may opt for the more expensive EyeSight X, which includes GPS-aware adaptive cruise control.
