C8 Corvette resembles a supercar in its proposed new body kit

Tuning company Competition Carbon has posted some early 3D renderings of an upcoming aerodynamic kit for the mid-engined Chevrolet Corvette C8. The package consists of dozens of items that make the coupe look not unlike an exotic supercar.

The upgrade targets the hardtop convertible variant of the ‘Vette, endowing it with especially aggressive-looking new bumpers, rounded headlights, a purely ornamental “ventilated” hood and edgy widened fenders. More interestingly still, it takes away the stock front splitter and the headlights, only leaving the DRLs in place. A massive air scoop resides behind the seats, hopefully supplying some cool air to the powertrain.

Moving on to the rear, there is an aggressive diffuser, dual triangular exhaust tips and an unexpectedly modest-sized rear spoiler. A Targa top rounds things off.

Competition Carbon claims the kit may well go into production, but even if this is the case, it would first have to be modified to incorporate the headlights, otherwise there is no way it is going to obtain road-legal status.
