Shortened GMC Sierra pickup suddenly wins a fan base

A group of car tinkerers from the United States decided to try something unusual with a modern GMC Sierra pickup, shortening both its bed and cab. The end result gained something of a cult following: as it turned out, many were secretly hoping for a truck like this.

This casts light on an issue we have on our modern car market: General Motors does not ship the Sierra with a single cab, nor does it offer an option for a smaller bed. Rewind to half a century ago, and you will that such small trucks are not just common, but actually standard in North America. They are compact, quite maneuverable, accelerate better on highways and only take up one parking space instead of two, saving you the trouble searching.

Aside from a painstakingly crafted metallic body, the single-cab Sierra rocks golden-hued forged wheels, lowered suspension and a smoky blue paintjob. The interior makes do with minor modifications, and the engine stays stock.
