Nissan Qashqai gets a Midnight Edition in Australia

The Australian office of Nissan has announced a new Qashqai trim called the Midnight Edition. The novelty boils down to a new exterior and cabin, black 19-inch wheels, and smoked lighting all around. It will ship in mid-November priced from $35,900 AUD.

The car has a gloss black radiator grille to show for being special, as well as identically finished side moldings, railings and mirror caps. Quite counterintuitively, the bumpers and wheel arches come painted to match the body instead of black like usual.

The cabin also sees some darkening along with matte plastic details on the doors and the dashboard. The ceiling is black, and leather wraps around the steering wheel and the shift stick.

The equipment list mentions an infotainment system with sat-nav, blind zone control, AEB, lane departure warning, and more.

Powering the series is a 2.0-liter engine rated at 144 PS (142 hp / 106 kW) that pairs up with a CVT.
