Video: Watch a drone taxi fly over Seoul

Tests of a new means of public transportation, the flying taxi, have officially begun in Seoul, South Korea. The EHang Concept flies itself automatically and has two seats, but those were devoid of passengers for the first test.

During its 7-minute long flight, the drone reached an altitude of around 50 meters (165 feet) and covered nearly 2 kilometers (1.24 miles). Steering it in the air was K-drone, a control system capable of flying multiple drones simultaneously.

Other companies have also been showing an increased interest in aerial personal transports lately. One example would be the AirCar, a road-legal vehicle that premiered last week and could transform into a plane at a push of a button.
