Video: This is how the Ram 1500 became the Aznom Palladium

The Aznom Palladium was one of this year’s quirkier premieres. A little-known coachbuilder from Monza, Italy, seemed to have taken a pickup truck chassis and slapped a luxury limo body on it. An 11-minute long video revealed this week confirms this theory.

Company representatives go into detail about how they aimed at ensuring perfect body proportions for their super sedan while keeping its appearance as close to the classical as possible. The entire design process is shown from concept to materials and paint choices.

Just like everyone guessed, the Palladium comes based on the U.S.-made Ram 1500 pickup truck chassis. It utilizes a 5.7-liter twin-turbo V8 rated at 710 PS (700 hp / 522 kW) and 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission sends the momentum to all four wheels via electronic diff locks. Getting from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) succeeds in 4.5 seconds, and the top speed lies at 210 km/h (131 mph).

Based on all the praise, it looks like Aznom has yet to sell out its planned production run of 10 Palladium units. Prices remain undisclosed to the general public.
