BMW i4 to emerge in three specs

The Bavarian automaker confirmed in November that the coupe-shaped, battery-powered i4 saloon will go into production in Munich, Germany next year. As it turns out now, the car will ship in three specifications to choose from.

The i440 and i4 M50 xDrive will be the first to hit the showroom floors, the first restricted to RWD and a modest trim level and the latter making use of AWD and all the usual M Performance equipment and options. The company emphasizes that engine performance will be the only real difference between the two, while most of the equipment the i4 M50 xDrive ships with by default will be also available for the i440 – at a premium, of course.

The third and final spec will be called i435, and it remains a complete mystery at this point.
