Mitsubishi ASX goes black in Russia

The Mitsubishi ASX went through a facelift in Russia last spring and now follows the example of its larger sibling, the Outlander, debuting in a new trim level called the Black Edition.

Those familiar with such editions will find it hard to be surprised. Exterior changes include blacked-out radiator grille, side mirror caps and 18-inch wheels. The body paint doesn’t have to be black, with customers having access to Pearlescent White and Grey options. For its part, the cabin sports a combination trim with red stitching on the steering wheel, gear selector, seats and center tunnel.

The Black Edition uses the Instyle trim level as the starting point, which comes with seven airbags, numerous safety assists, chrome-coated door handles, tinted windows, power-foldable mirrors with integrated turn blinkers, paddle shifters, cruise control and a rear row armrest. The Mitsubishi Connect infotainment supports Bluetooth and HandsFree functions, and there is a climate control unit, a reversing camera, keyless entry, an engine start button, and sun visors with built-in lights.

Powering the ASX is a naturally aspirated gasoline engine rated at 150 PS (148 hp / 110 kW), which links to a CVT and drives both axles.

Sales have already begun in Russia. The production run is said to be limited, but no specific numbers are given.
