BMW reveals its next-gen iDrive infotainment at the CES 2021

BMW has joined the ongoing Consumer Electronics Show 2021 (online only) with what it calls “the next chapter in automotive display design.” Judge for yourself whether the claim is founded.

The next-gen iDrive infotainment system has at least one thing going for it, and that is the enormous, curve, solid screen. The iX show car does a nice job demonstrating the advantages of the system, and company representatives claim the displayed data density must grow in the coming years along with the growing number of in-car features and services.

Thanks to AI support and enhanced sensors, drivers will get traffic accident warnings and other relevant real-time data from other BMW vehicles in the area. Not only this, but the system will even try to predict which parking lot nearby has the best odds of being unoccupied at the time, and will guide you to it.
