Porsche Boxster 25 coming to celebrate 25 years

The Boxster model becomes a quarter of a century old this year, and the automaker will be marking the milestone by issuing a special edition laconically named “Boxster 25”.

The Boxster Concept that debuted at the North American International Auto Show 28 years ago will be used as the main reference for the project. To this end, the limited edition will come painted GT Silver Metallic with a black windshield frame, glossy exhaust finishers, and a red roof with the version name spelled out on it. There will also be copper-tinted Neodyme accents on the air intakes, front bumper and 20-inch wheels.

The cabin will make use of Bordeaux Red leather, side sills with “Boxster 25” captions, aluminum details and a heated GT steering wheel.

From the technical point of view, the cars will be identical to the 718 Boxster GTS 4.0 spec, which comes with a four-liter flat-six engine rated at 400 PS (394 hp / 294 kW). Customers will be offered six-speed manual and seven-speed DCT for transmission, the latter guaranteeing 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in four seconds.

A total of 1250 units will be produced and shipped this spring. Priced in the USA will start at $98,600.
